Museum of the Waxhaws
While new generations create new traditions here, many Waxhaw residents are curious about the ancient Native American tribes that once roamed these lands. As new homes are built on the open fields by the creek banks where the Waxhaw Indians once hunted, we intend to preserve knowledge and understanding of the native tribes that first lived here.
The Museum showcases and demonstrates history and culture to visitors in the context of indoor and outdoor exhibits, artistic performances, historical reenactments, and group tours. The basis of our mission is to teach residents of Union County about our regional history.
The Museum of the Waxhaws is open three days a week to the public with field trips and group visits occurring as scheduled throughout each week.
Cane Creek Park
Cane Creek Park is a family-oriented, water-based recreation space that encompasses 1,050 acres of land surrounding a 350-acre lake. The park provides a natural and scenic environment for a variety of outdoor activities and peaceful relaxation year-round. The lake is home to some of the best largemouth bass fishing in the state as well as bluegill, crappie and catfish. Shelters and picnic pads are available for rent for family reunions, birthday parties, corporate events, etc.
The Queens Cup
The Queen’s Cup is like no other sporting and social event in the Charlotte region. The last Saturday in April in the Piedmont countryside each spring is greeted with great anticipation.
Thousands come to see some of the most athletic thoroughbreds compete at speeds of up to 30 miles per hour. The jockeys, dressed in bright colored silks, push their sleek steeds to clear four and a half foot jumps over a two and a quarter to as much as three miles of rolling turf course. The prestige of $150,000 in purse money to the winning owners and the opportunity to bask in the glory of the winner’s circle is what it’s all about from the horse’s connections.
Waxhaw Farmers Market
Visit the local farmers market and pick up some farm-fresh produce, natural meats, fresh eggs, artisan foods and specialty items all locally grown and harvested. Located near the intersection of Providence road and Price street, you will be sure to find vendors displaying fresh from the farm goodness, ready to bring home and to your dinner table.

Broadstreet Homes did a wonderful job! We love our new home and would recommend Broadstreet to everyone.
We have been extremely satisfied with our Broadstreet Home. Even after we closed and moved in, if any issue came up, your production team was on top of it and was very respectful to our time and schedule
When our family and friends come to visit they have nothing but high compliments and are very impressed with our home. It is nice to receive that kind of recognition.
From the beginning of this process, we were greeted with kindness and warmth. Broadstreet’s attention to detail was like they were building their own home. We are very pleased with our home and look forward to enjoying it for many years.
The customer service of your team is unmatched. I cannot say enough about the level of detail from Broadstreet Homes. From the beginning all the way to closing. Everyone was very friendly and respectful and made us feel very comfortable from the start.
A friend of ours was building a home at the same time we started building ours with Broadstreet and all I can say is WOW, I am glad we chose Broadstreet Homes. They were true to their word and delivered exactly what they told us. Many builders only care about their bottom line, but with Broadstreet, you could tell from the beginning that is was more about creating a partnership.
